It seems that a sale of Bolton Wanderers could be imminent, with employees apparently told by email it will happen in 48 hours, with presumably the new owners footing the bills for wages which are due at the end of the week.
We can also assume a points deduction won’t happen this season now, as tomorrow is the deadline for any penalty to be invoked this season for going into administration, instead that would happen next season.
Having said that, if it all feels familiar, then it is. We’re technically at the same stage as we were on the morning of Sunday 24th February, when there was a statement on the official site confirming a deal in principle with Parminder Basran and his consortium, but as we all know that unravelled as opposed to unfolded.
One thing that doesn’t look too good though is Alan Nixon’s tweet…
BOLTON. A completely new player in the picture. Too bizarre. Surely the League would ask questions about this one … 😳

Hmm, if the EFL of all would people have questions, that would be quite honestly a cause for concern. Let’s see what happens, and who it actually is.
