And You Thought the BBC was Bad

As stated previously on this site, it`s worth reading the BBC Sport website – but only because it`s so crap. The Guardian, being a supposedly prestigious broadsheet paper ought to be better at getting its facts right. It isn`t

Last week Spencer Vignes claimed that Bolton`s Swedish striker Johan Elmander was South African. This Saturday there`s a puzzling case of mistaken identity.

‘?Phil Bardsley was caught in possession by Gavin McCann, who fed Kevin Nolan, and the Bolton captain set up Elmander for his second goal of the game and third in a week,` writes Howard Swains, in his round up of the day`s action.

It was in fact, Elmander who won possession, before feeding Nolan (no pie jokes please) and running into space for the return. McCann was nowhere near the action and even if he had been, the two aren`t exactly look-alikes.

For future reference, Johan is more blessed in the hair department, whilst Gavin looks to have been the victim of an attack by seagulls. Hope this helps, Howard.
