On new Manchester United left wing back, Andy Kellett

Apologies for my prolonged absence. As you may have noticed, there’s been a bit of a change around here- we’re now bringing you more news thanks to the writers at Vital Football as well as the usual posts from Rob and myself.

So, as you’ll have seen, the loan signing of Andy Kellett to Manchester United seemed to steal the show on Deadline Day.

Kellett, along with many many others, thought that the whole transfer was a windup, or indeed a misread from Jim White.

However, this has been proved wrong and Kellett has joined the Red Devils on loan until the end of the season.

I got the chance to interview Andy Kellett back in November here: http://www.bolton.vitalfootball.co.uk/sitepage.asp?a=376794 I was very impressed by his humility and he was vey nice to work with.

Upon his signing with United, he also changed Twitter which means he no longer follows me, which is a great shame as we had terrific bant on DMs.

As weird as this (the transfer, not my unfollowing) may seem, it’s not crazy thinking from Reds boss Louis Van Gaal. He is insistent on his 3-5-2 philosophy which heavily features wing backs, and if ever a player fit the bill of a wing back, t’would be Kellett.

He’s got good ability on the ball, and I would say is probably about the standard of a good League 1 player.

Here is footage of him scoring for Plymouth Argyle:

This loan deal is an awesome oppourtunity for Kellett, who if impresses, will be signed at the enf of the season.

Right back, Janko also comes the other way and is highly rated and will be a good addition to Bolton’s squad.

Anyway, what a move for Kellett and we wish him all the best.
