Although he’s not yet donned his best Scrooge costume, Big Sam is bemoaning the fact that clubs are expected to play a host of games over the festive season, as well as trying to bring in a few new players to freshen up the squad.
Big Sam said: ‘This is the worst time of the year for a manager.
‘There are too many games over Christmas and new year, then you head straight into the FA Cup.
‘Not only that, you are wondering whether to bring players into your squad. It is an area where you have to tread very carefully.’
Looks like the office party is going to get cancelled!
