Two weeks later, that gap is now two points. What a balls up.
While you can never say never, we didn’t ever look like actually losing to Bury tonight. Lee Clark set his team up with five defenders, they kept it tight and as is often the case when that happens, we did not know what to do.
Again, despite the absence of a target man, the target man, we continued to play as if he was there, meaning Adam Le Fondre couldn’t get onto anything, as much as he tried. The midfield were bypassed and weren’t in the game. Parkinson has done a super job, he actually has. But this seems to be a blind spot how he can expect to play the same when the man which makes it happen is unavailable. Hopefully Gary Madine is back on Saturday.
We had chances in the second half. Adam Le Fondre came closest, hitting the underside of the bar, while David Wheater had a good ahot saved by Joe Murphy.
Despite the doom and gloom, if we did win and Fleetwood don’t on Saturday, we go up. I’m just bricking it though now, when after our position a fortnight ago, it shouldn’t have had to be like this
