Bolton Confirm First Pre-Season Friendly

|

Bolton confirmed one of their pre-season assignments today when they announced they would be travelling to League Two side Morecambe next month.

Wanderers will travel to the Globe Arena on Tuesday 17 July, with the match kicking off at 7,45pm. Other games will be confirmed by the club in due course.

There has been speculation on social media of a trip abroad, but since Phil Parkinson has been in charge we’ve appeared to stay closer to home. A trip to Scandinavia shortly after he arrived at the club was scaled down, while we only travelled as far as Scotland last year for match action.

Trips abroad are always a good laugh for the fans, and as we probably won’t be playing European football anytime soon offers something the regular season doesn’t. Sorry Swansea, you don’t count as abroad.

Whether we do a get a game on foreign soil or not, pre-season will probably consist of a few local away games, then one or two games at the Macron, if the trend of recent years is to go by.
