Bolton Face Difficult League Cup Draw

|

Bolton have been handed a tough game in the first round of the Carabao Cup.

The draw at this stage of the competition is no longer seeded and that has meant Wanderers have to travel to a fellow Championship side in Leeds United. The game will be played on the week commencing 13th August.

Wanderers have struggled away from home in recent years, barring the League One season. We’ve won one of our last 46 away league games in the Championship, and if you want to feel even worse, five of our last 69.

It’ll also be an early test for new Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa. The icon of football hipsters everywhere was announced as their new boss this morning and providing he hasn’t resigned by then, his first cup tie will be against us.

Cup ties are always harder to call, but I can’t see us winning this one, but there’s still two months to go and lots of things will change.
