Bolton Face Tough Posh Trip

|

A match preview written on the morning of the game. You can tell I was out last night…

Anyway, Bolton travel to Peterborough in hope more than expectation. We’re largely in a run of games against teams further down the league, but this an outlier as the Posh sit third, four points off the top two.

Team news

We’ve apparently lost another player to a knock after Tuesday’s defeat at Accrington. Has Keith Hill named him? Of course not. Not that he has to, obviously.

Facts and stats

Bolton have lost both recent trips to London Road, a 5-4 defeat in 2012, then a 1-0 defeat in 2016. It will be our first meeting since we beat them 3-0 in 2017 to clinch promotion to the Championship, and Wanderers have won seven if the 11 games we have ever played against the Posh.

Bolton have won one away game this season, away at Bristol Rovers, while Peterborough are unbeaten at home since Fleetwood turned them over on the opening day.

Prediction

Long afternoon. 4-0 to them,
