The growing discontent amongst Bolton fans is causing concern amongst some prominent former players. At least according to old boy Simon Charlton.

‘Me and Gudni (Bergsson) were talking about it at Jussi`s testimonial the other week,` he told the Bolton News.

‘We both said we were a bit worried about how the club is now.

‘It seems to have lost its way a bit. The fans and the club have drifted apart.`

Wanderers supporters are divided as never before, with some claiming they`d prefer to lose the game tomorrow against Stoke, if it meant the dismissal of Gary Megson.

This week the club sent out questionnaires to those fans who haven`t renewed their season tickets and in attempts to boost attendances the entire South Stand has been allocated to away fans for the games played so far.

Chairman Phil Gartside was keen to emphasise efforts to re-engage with the Reebok faithful before the start of last season, but has been unusually quiet just lately. Any thoughts on the present situation, Uncle Phil?
