The points were shared at Stadium:MK as Bolton Wanderers drew with MK Dons. While MK Dons were celebrating the 50 year anniversary of their town, Bolton on the other hand were more focused on collecting three vital points, closing the gap on leaders Scunthorpe.

The first half offered very little excitement for the neutrals. 21,500 fans packed into the stadium, however the atmosphere was dry and dull, which clearly affected the tempo of the game, there was no real urge for both teams to push forward.

Bolton gave two of their new signings, Chris Long and Filipe Morais starts. There was also a start for Dean Moxey, who replaced Andrew Taylor due to a groin injury in the warm up. The first real chance came to MK Dons on 35 minutes, Mark Beevers brought down the lively Chuks Aneke just outside the area, although the resulting free-kick from Ed Upson narrowly cleared Ben Alnwick`s crossbar. Chances were few and far between for Wanderers but the first clear cut chance fell to Josh Vela, the ball fell to him on the edge of the box but his volley sailed over the goalmouth.

Moments later, in first half injury time Wanderers took the lead. Jay Spearing whipped in a wicked free kick from the left hand side of the penalty area and the ball somehow found itself in the side netting. Wanderers weren`t complaining though.

After the break Wanderers made an instant change, debutant Filipe Morias replaced by Max Clayton. However Clayton`s first action in the second half was not a positive one. Caught slacking, he allowed George Baldock behind Wanderers back line whose cross was tamely headed away from Daen Moxey but found Stuart O`Keefe who squared across to in-form Kieran Agard who powered in from close range on the hour mark.

Later on Wanderers brought on attacking options, youngster Viv Solomon-Otabor and fans’ favourite Adam Le Fondre. However things nearly got worse, Lawrie Wilson prodded off with a hamstring injury leaving Wanderers to fight the last 10 minutes with 10-men. Put under the cosh, Le Fondre played an emergency central midfield role and Jay Spearing filled in at right back. Wanderers rode their luck; a few scares came when Alnwick worryingly dropped a few crosses but neither side could find a winner and the points were shared.
