Bolton Have Decent Chance To Get A Win At Struggling Charlton

After a couple of defeats, Bolton have a chance to get back to winning ways tomorrow.

It’s a long trip down to London though, as Charlton Athletic are the opponents. We could end the night anywhere really, but get the right result and that should take us back into the league’s top six. Can we get our shooting boots on and sort our defensive frailties?

Team news

Lloyd Isgrove will miss out tomorrow after his nasty cut at Sunderland at the weekend. Elias Kachunga is nailed on to start on the right in his place, while Declan John may come back in after Liam Gordon was a bit off the pace at the weekend.

Possible team: Dixon; Jones, Almeida Santos, Johnston, John; Williams, Sheehan; Kachunga, Sarcevic, Afolayan; Doyle

Last time out

Our last trip to the Valley was in August 2016, when our 100% start to League One was ended. Gary Madine had given us a lead, but a young Ademola Lookman equalised in the 90th minute and we had to make do with a draw. We were ultimately promoted in second place that season.

The opposition

Charlton have had a dreadful start to the season, sitting third from bottom with one win in nine. Nigel Adkins took over after Lee Bowyer left late on last season, but couldn’t guide them into the playoffs. Ones to watch include Harry Arter, the former Bournemouth midfielder back at his first club, Pape Souare is the former Crystal Palace left-back who was seriously injured in a car crash – he’s back in English football after a couple of years in the French second division with Troyes. while goalkeeper Craig MacGillivray had impressed in recent seasons with Portsmouth but left Fratton Park in the summer.

The way we’ve played, surely a win has to come. I reckon it will be tomorrow. 2-1 to us.
