‘Bolton have not yet won in the league under Owen Coyle and I can’t see that changing at Ewood Park,` wrote Mark Lawrenson in his prediction column last week.

The gormless one off Match of the Day was half-right. The Whites were never in danger of coming away from Blackburn with three points, but they had triumphed over Burnley (although it seems a long time ago now.)

Lawro has surpassed himself this week, not only repeating the mistake, but building on it.

‘Wolves played well against Chelsea last week and created a lot of chances but defensively they were poor for both goals. I’m predicting that will be their downfall again and Coyle will pick up his first win since taking charge at Bolton,` is the latest verdict.

So it`s not just the Burnley result that`s been chalked off, but the FA cup fourth round defeat of Sheffield United too. You have to wonder what that mid-week game at Spurs was all about.
