It is reported in the press this morning that St Owen Coyle is rumoured to be looking at Stoke City want away/we don’t want him anymore James Beattie. Beattie had a run in with Grumpy Tony Pullis earlier in the year, hasn’t featured regularly since and has only scored two goals this season.

St Owen is quoted as saying It`s fair to say you can never have enough goalscorers at your club and it`s an area we need to add to. To do this he is looking to offload the Misfiring Swede. Insert your own joke HERE.

With Ivan Klasnic also looking likely to depart, if these rumours are true then St Owen obviously feels the need to bolster the forward line with someone else we can smack the long ball to when Plan A fails.

Bolton have a recent history of resurrecting former Southampton strikers careers, but Kevin Davies was twenty six at the time and had what appears to be his best years ahead of him. If St Owen is looking at Beattie, who would come cheap, at least in transfer fee terms, let’s hope that he has a Plan B, and even C, in place.
