Bolton Play Rochdale Once Again

|

Bolton play Rochdale for what feels like the 9o789th time this season tomorrow, but this one is at home, it’s in the league, and it’s one where we’ll be playing a full strength team.

After another week without a game due to Burton’s international call-ups, it’s allowed Keith Hill and co time to get stuff done on the training pitch and we might even see some returning faces.

Team news

Bolton possibly have Chris O’Grady and Connor Hall back after injuries, but Liam Bridcutt and Will Buckley will be missing with their injuries picked up during and before the Blackpool game respectively. Jake Wright and Ronan Darcy’s appearance in the returning Fanzone tomorrow indicates they won’t be involved either.

Aaron Wilbraham may play for Rochdale after starting a few games recently, which is surely the only bit of Rochdale team news anyone really wants to know.

Stats and facts

This is already the third meeting with Dale this season having lost at Spotland in the Carabao Cup, then drawing in the EFL Trophy at the same venue. One better this time?

Bolton have only lost one of their last five games at home, but are still yet to win. Rochdale have lost their last three away games, including a 6-0 thrashing at Peterborough.

Bolton’s last home game against Rochdale was in February 2017, when we won 1-0. Nobody is still sure who scored the goal.

Prediction

I’m still a little worried about our ability to score goals, which is why I’m going for a draw even though this is definitely a winnable game.
