Bolton were shown up as Billy Sharp scored in either half to hand us defeat in Yorkshire.

Sharp scored his first, finding space betweem the centre backs and finishing with aplomb, before adding his second from the spot with 20 minutes to go

For large parts Bolton, who were without Gary Madine after he wasn’t even named in the squad, were awful. The back three didn’t work, while the long balls weren’t being held up by Conor Wilkinson.

It was an awful performance. Mike Dean was parachuted in from a higher to referee the game, but regressed to the usual league standard, with a more than questionable call for the penalty, and a tackle which ended Tom Thorpe’s day going unpunished.

The back three experiment needs to stop. I don’t know if Reece Wabara is ready for 90 minutes, but if he is, he should go in at right back with Wheater and Beevers in the middle

If Madine is still unavailable on Tuesday, then a change in approach is needed as Long and Le Fondre both need it on the floor.
