Bolton Secure Comeback Point

Bolton recovered from a horror first half as they took a point from Phil Parkinson’s return back to Valley Parade.

It looked like a day that could have ended in embarrassment after 20 minutes. On a dodgy pitch, Ben Alnwick still couldn’t use the turf as an excuse as he found himself culpable with both goals. Possibly the pitch could be blamed for the first one, as the ball bobbled, but the second one, he rushed out, and on both occasions, the in-form Charlie Wyke was the man to capitalise. In any case, Mark Howard could well be pulling on the gloves next weekend.

Bolton seemed at sixes and sevens in the first half, but afterwards things were changed. James Henry was introduced and it changed the game. David Wheater got one back for Wsnderers initially, before Gary Madine headed level to shut the natives up.

From there it was open game, with both teams able to win it, but Bolton showed good spirit to get anything from that game, because it looked absolutely hopeless at the break.
