Bolton Set For Opening Friendly – Hopefully

|

After what happened over the weekend, hopefully, Bolton Wanderers will belatedly play their first pre-season game of the summer tomorrow night when they make the short trip to Atherton Collieries.

Wanderers have been fairly quiet since Ken Anderson had his say via a statement on Saturday morning, with all club communication since then either flogging mascot packages or to do with the weekend’s stadium concerts.

There doesn’t seem to be any sign the strike would continue, Wanderers were back in training at Lostock today so Marc Iles’ tweet from Saturday is probably up to date.

The game is all-ticket and Colls’ site has a list of whereabouts in Atherton or Bolton you can pick up a ticket.

With still an understaffed squad, Bolton will be including a number of youngsters in their team, and maybe even some trialists. Spanish winger Diego Capel is the latest half-baked transfer rumour going around, last season he was linked with a move to Leeds United.

Hopefully, we’ll have some players soon, as we need at least half a dozen. And hopefully, for Colls’ sake as well, as this will be an occasion for them, we actually have a game to dissect tomorrow evening.
