Bolton Sign Guyana International Defender

|

Bolton announced a further summer signing this morning after Liam Gordon’s move from Dagenham & Redbridge was confirmed.

Gordon is a younger signing, just 21, and can play at centre-back or left-back. He ends a four-year association with the National League side, although he has been out on loan three times, the last of those a 10-game spell in National League South with Dartford last season. He is also a Guyana international, where he will have played alongside ex-Wanderer Neil Danns.

“I’m really pleased to get the move sorted,” Gordon told the official site. “I played against the gaffer when he was at Barrow and after speaking with Tobias (Phoenix) about coming here, I wanted to get it done quickly. I’m looking forward to wearing the shirt and hopefully helping the club to win promotion this season.”

Ian Evatt said: “We are delighted to have brought in Liam, who is a player I kept an eye on last season in the National League. He is extremely quick and has good quality with his left foot. He is a young player with a bright future.”

Time will tell with this signing – he’s young and seems to have promise, and even became a fans’ favourite when he broke into the Dagenham team in 2018-19. But after international duty last summer he was loaned out before Dagenham recalled him following a managerial change. It’s just a case whether he can handle the step up to league football.
