Bolton are now six games without a win and have slipped out of the playoff places after losing to Rochdale.

Going forward, Wanderers showed little effort, the best chance of the first half being a James Henry volley that rdally should have gone in at the far post.

Steve Davies came off the bench in the first half and scored just minutes into the second, just needing a slip from David Wheater to ruthlessly finish into the top corner.

It was a night where frustration boiled over in the away stand, with ironic cheers when Chris Taylor was taken off.

Sammy Ameobi provided some spark when he came on, while Henry hit the post with a looping effort. But things need to improve and quickly. The honeymoon period is over.
