Bolton have been handed a home game against Sheffield United in the opening weekend of the 2016/17 season.

In the tie of the weekend, the two former Premier League sides will meet for the first time since an FA Cup tie in 2010, when Gretar Steinsson and Johan Elmander scored in a 2-0 win.

August also sees trips to Bristol Rovers, Wimbledon and Charlton.

We face Bury in their cup final at Gigg Lane on October 22, with the return fixture at the Macron on Easter Monday.

Boxing Day will see Wanderers entertain Shrewsbury at home, while the final game of the season is at home to Peterborough in a Sunday lunchtime affair.
