Bolton Start Off Easter With Win At Doncaster

|

Bolton picked up a win over Doncaster to earn their first Good Friday win in donkeys’ years, virtually sealing themselves a place in the top half.

Wanderers ran out 2-1 winners, possibly going a long way to relegating a club who were less than helpful when we were at our lowest ebb. Ah well.

In a goalless first half, it was fairly even, but it was Doncaster’s chances which tested the goalkeeper, namely the two from the impressive Josh Martin, while none of ours were on target. Amadou Bakayoko, given an opportunity from the start, headed wide early on.

We did find our shooting boots after the break though. Jon Dadi Bodvarsson and Bakayoko linked up well and Baka got on the scoresheet with the opener. Donny would level through Mipo Odubeko but we immediately put that right, with Kieran Sadlier’s volley sealing all three points. Both shots on target from us in the game resulted in goals.

Ironically, even a win, given points elsewhere, officially meant our play-off chances were ended today. But there won’t be too much crying over that. They were more or less over for a few weeks, but we’re onto five games unbeaten and hopefully pick up a decent haul of points from our final three games to finish off what has been a good season.
