Bolton are still in the running to sign striker Ivan Klasnic. It was reported yesterday that the Croatian had turned down a move.

‘He has told me he now wants to stay with Nantes – although the window is still open so I could lose him to England,’ said coach Gernot Rohr.

However, it is now thought that Klasnic will commit to a season long loan at the Reebok, later this afternoon.

Talks are still ongoing with Real Betis, regarding midfielder Achile Emana, with the Spanish club holding out for a hefty fee.

  • I do hope that we manage to sign up both Klasnic and Emana but I’m not holding my breath. By the way, am I the only one distracted from reading the articles by El Tel’s scary floating head?

  • Oh wait, he’s now been replaced by Laura Ashley… it goes without saying that I’m not really enjoying the new site redesign.

  • I like the new site design. It looks more professional.

    Kamara’s not gonna come along.

Isn’t anyone else narked that newly promoted clubs like Wolves, Burnley and Brum have actually gone out and bought decent players whilst we’ve bought tripe? All the teams that we are competing with (Wolves, Brum, Dingles, Hull, Stoke) are consistenly linked with good players. Stoke actually signed Huth and Tuncay – two players I’d love to see at the Reebok. We’ve been swiflty overtaken by these teams.

  • hi i follow spurs but i am also croatian and the loan deal with klasnic is done so i just want to add my 2 cents worth.he is a top striker but i’m not sure if you have the service he needs to score the goals.he was excellent at bremen but he had top players to give him the service.he has a great shot with both feet,he is ok in the air and he will finish the chances he gets but don’t expect him to run all day after long pointless balls and press defenders or anything like that.

  • Cheers for that Dwight. I take your point about service. It doesn’t look like we’ve landed Achile Emana which might have improved things in that respect.

  • According to Skysports bolton have have spent the lowest amount in this transfer window of all premier clubs – £6m.
