Bolton Toothless Once Again

|

Bolton Wanderers lost 1-0 at Sheffield Wednesday last night in another defeat where the attacking performance could be described as toothless.

In fact, both teams could have largely have been given that tag, with Wednesday’s only attempt on target resulting in their goal, a headed effort from Tom Lees. The fact the goal came from a set-piece is also doubly frustrating, and when you have a half decent move that resulted in a rubbish attempt at a finish from Clayton Donaldson, it probably isn’t going to be your night.

Sammy Ameobi had an early effort but he didn’t seem to have the same overall threat he provided at Millwall on Saturday, whether that’s him still searching for consistency after his long injury layoff, or just the fact he’ll always throw in an off-game, I don’t know.

I would mention this weekend’s game against Wigan in the same way I had talked about the Hull City match back in October but we lost that and nothing really changed, so those wanting change shouldn’t really be holding their breath. But we need a win soon, especially as after that we travel to Norwich and host Leeds.
