And so another Bolton season ends with Birmingham the visitors on Saturday, a season of disappointment really but one that could have ended worse I suppose, and looked for a spell like it might.

Victory at the Macron Stadium on Saturday could lift us a couple of places, depending on results, with the lowest we can finish our current 18th spot but that wasn’t the expectancy back in August was it….

Dorian Dervite (suspension) will sit out the final game after his sending off in the three-nil defeat against Bournemouth on Monday.

Various loanees, such as Cardiff’s Adam Le Fondre and Crystal Palace’s Barry Bannan could be involved for the final time whereas the youngster could be viewed again, including Kaiyne Woolery following his debut from the bench on the Bournemouth defeat.

Injuries continue to keep out Matt Mills (ankle), Josh Vela (groin), Paddy McCarthy (ankle), Max Clayton (ankle), David Wheater (hamstring), Simeon Slavchev (ankle), Darren Pratley (hamstring), Craig Davies (hamstring) and Zach Clough (shoulder).

Birmingham don’t have any fresh injury concerns with Gary Rowett likely to continue his ‘experimenting’ with his side and formation with Matt Green (knee) possibly playing part as he returns from a long-term injury.

We’re on for a possible double having won the reverse fixture one-nil at St Andrew’s back in October, and given we’ve won three of the last four-matches against them we’ll be keen for that run to continue and for us to end on a high.

But can we?
