Here is the usual look at the match stats for Bolton’s 1-0 home defeat to Blackburn. It meant Bolton missed the chance to pick up a seventh straight home win over today’s opponents, and the first defeat since 2009. This also extends Bolton’s recent run to one win in the last eight games.

Bolton had the better of pretty much all the stats bar the one that actually counts. Wanderers won 61% of the aerial battles, passed the ball more accurately (albeit at 70% compared to their 68) and put in 16 tackles to Rovers’ 15 too.

One problem though was the position of our chances. More than half our shots were from outside the area, while around 15% of their chances were from that distance, which would lead you to think that we might need to work the ball into the area better. Certainly tonight we struggled with those final balls.
