Bolton v Blackburn: The Opposition

|

Our usual guide to the weekend’s opposition takes us up to Blackburn…here’s a bit about Rovers,,,

Their season so far

A decent start for a newly promoted club – Blackburn are 14th, one place above us in the table by a goal difference better by two goals. They like a draw – six of their eleven games have ended all square.

The team

Blackburn will almost certainly set up with their usual  4-2-3-1 formation – with Bradley Dack being the focal point. The attacking midfielder signed from Gillingham for £750,000 last summer, helped Rovers to promotion in their first season, and has now taken to the Championship rather well. Danny Graham, a player linked with us over the summer, will possibly play up front, while a player who did, Adam Armstrong, has found himself still on the left even after his loan spell with us.

The manager

Tony Mowbray took over from Owen Coyle’s latest wreckage too late in the 2016-17 season to stop Blackburn dropping into League One, but managed to get them straight back up in his first full season and stopped the consistent slide the club was on since Venky’s took over in 2010.
