Bolton v Bristol City Reaction and Stats: Wanderers Blow Two Goal Lead

Bolton couldn’t make it back to back wins as they drew their first home game of the season 2-2 against Bristol City.

The first half was flat. Bristol City had more shots and possession by a long way but still managed to be not much more effective than Wanderers, bar a hit post. Going in at the break, it felt okay, if not particularly good.

Things did improve in the second half. From a set-piece, Will Buckley was adjudged to have got the decisive touch to put us ahead, then Josh Magennis, who apparently can’t finish. made it two goals in two to double our lead. It felt almost too good, and in time Bristol City would claw both goals back, firstly through Andi Weimann, then Jamie Paterson, finishing well after Bolton lost their way defending a counter attack.

Before the game, I would have taken a point, not sure however after being 2-0 up. Still, four points from our first two games represents a good start.
