Bolton Wanderers entertain Ipswich Town at the Macron- featuring Francis from Vital Ipswich

Bolton Team News:

Bolton’s only new injury concern will be Craig Davies who faces a late fitness test, following an injury picked up in the second half of last week’s 0-0 draw with Reading. The out of favour Joe Mason could get his first start since October in Davies’ place.

Eidur Gudjohnsen has been granted international clearance and could feature. Upon recent signing for Bolton, the lovable Icelandic said ‘sure there is still a bit of magic left’- wouldn’t we love a late Eidur goal?

Opposition Word:

I spoke to Francis from Vital Ipswich ahead of the game…

VB: Ipswich manager Mick McCarthy was reportedly a contender for the Bolton job before he took over at your club. How big of an impact has he made at Portman Road?

VI: Enormous. When he came to the club we were rock bottom of the table with just 7 points and two years on he has got us into the Premier League automatic promotion places with loan players and free transfers. Town ahve spent just 35,000 pounds in that time on a player who never kicked a ball in the first team and went back to Ireland home sick. The other 10,000 was spent on Tyrone Mings from Chippenham Town and the rest as they say is history!

VB: Who do you see as your biggest threat/s to Bolton?

VI: Daryl Murphy and David McGoldrick who between them have already got 19 goals this season. Murphy is the top scorer in the Championship with 13 to his name in just 19 games!

VB: Who do you see as Bolton’s best player/s?

VI: Craig Davies and probably Mason too.

VB: Finally, what do you predict the final score to be?

VI: I think it will be a 1-1 draw or Town might just nick it 1-2!

Thanks very much to Francis for his time

So this promising to be a great encounter- two teams in good form go head to head. What do you think the score’ll be. I quite fancy us for some reason- 2-0 to the Wanderers?
