Evening everyone. It`s that time of the week again; the end of it. And we all know what arrives with that?disappointment!

In all seriousness, I should probably stop with the pessimism until at least after the game. These boys, despite currently sitting above us, are only back in the second tier this year after a couple of seasons playing in League One. We are the mighty Bolton Wanderers, one time favourites to get out of this league and return to the big time at the first available moment. However, we all know that in the crazy world of the Championship, this means diddly squat.

Charlton are on seven match unbeaten run. We did one of those, and I can`t say it made us any less beatable. In fact, we broke ours with a tap in from Michael Chopra. I reckon that a CE7 wonderstrike could easily break the strong barriers built up by Chris Powell`s men.

Dougie’s Corner:

Douglas thinks we`re doing ok. Well, he thinks we`re playing well, which I won`t begrudge him. But it`s hardly the point. It`s hardly POINTS! He told the club website:

“I am proud with the way things are going and the way the players have embraced the coaching. As I have said, the performances are there for everyone to see and in most games we have outperformed the opposition. Now I feel that the results have to try and match that.

“I think we have been a lot smarter in the way we go about our business and the way we have been pressing people at the right time and in the right areas. That certainly has been a factor in our performances of late and that is all credit to the lads for taking that on board.

“I like to play with a team that understand each other and I think we are starting to see that. We are working hard with each other and we are playing a style of football that I think can create a lot of opportunities. We now need to be stronger defensively , and we know that. We are working towards that and if we get that right we will start putting the wins together.”

Bolton Wanderers Team News:

So this is the part where I usually say who is injured. I think it might be easier just to tell you who isn`t?

I expect the following team: Bogdan, Mears, Ricketts, Knight, Warnock, Andrews, Spearing, Eagles, Butterfield, Chung-Yong, spearheaded by one man.

Player to watch: OUR NUMBER NINE

You expected Super Kev, no? No. This is a game for Ngog. I think he`s the future of this club, and I think that once he hits his stride, he`s going to make Liverpool sad that they let him go. Quote me on it. He has every quality that Kevin Davies has, bar possibly the tactical awareness and leadership abilities. These can come, and I think we need to get the best out of him on a more consistent basis.

Charlton Athletic Team News:

I can`t tell you who is in and who is out. Blame The Championship.

Player to watch: Rob Hulse

He`s pretty good from the games that I`ve seen him in over the years. Strong, persistent, and can find the net at this level. I think that he`ll probably trouble Ream if either get a game. But let`s be honest, there is no-one that Charlton have that should worry us. I`m still worried.

The Obligatory Stat

We have dominated league and cup meetings, winning 41 against their 26 victories. The last time we played them, Henrik Pedersen scored for us. If that tells you that statistics mean nothing, nowt will.

Match Prediction:

I think we`ll win. Just. I`d prefer that to a superb performance without three points. Gonna go with a 2-1.

Coming up NEXT!

We have Peterborough next. Peterborough. P-Town. Playing them in the league is almost a punishment for relegation in itself.
