….Stays on tour. If after tonight, we have failed to win a game on our trip to Scotland, then who cares? These are FRIENDLIES. I also think that many are failing to realise that these Scottish teams are much further down the line with regards to their pre-season schedule; if I’m not wrong they start competitively in a couple of weeks, lucky things.
So Falkirk tonight……..who? Wake me up when we play real team. Like the mighty Crewe Alexandra, and Tranmere Rovers, and Pompey. Actually, there probably won’t be a Pompey to play by the time we get to Fratton Park; I wonder if we have a back-up plan if we miss out on playing the unfortunate South Coast club.
The assistant has taken over flirting with the opposition this week, telling the official website; ‘They have a strong team and I would imagine it’s another wee step up for us again.
Falkirk Team News:
All the big names will be there to humble us with that tiki-taka style that Falkirk are so well known for.
Player to watch: Ken Dodd
Sorry, Darren Dods. He’s a goal scoring defending apparently. I know nothing about him and neither do you wish to.
Bolton Wanderers Team News:
I think our squad should be fairly unchanged since the last match. Cisse may be given his last chance to prove his worth, although sources on Twitter think that it’s pretty much a no-go.
Player to watch: Tom Eaves
The youngster has had a few minutes on this tour already. I think before his injury last season, it looked likely he would play some part. One year later, one level lower, you can only expect that he will be getting games for us this year.
Match Facts & Stats
We played them a couple of years ago, and drew 0-0. If we do the same time tonight, they’ll be numpties asking for Coyle’s head. I’d be happy with it.
Next Fixtures: Crewe
We play Crew Alex on Saturday. I was born in Crewe, and have a slight suspicion I’m named after that club. My full first name is Alexandra. Just kidding.
