Bolton’s Fixtures: Nearly Everything You Need To Know

|

The fixtures are out and Bolton Wanderers know their fixture list for the 2018/19 season.

It all starts with a trip to newly-relegated West Bromwich Albion, our first visit to the Hawthorns since November 2011 when we lost 2-1. A week later, our opening game at the Macron sees Bristol City make the trip up, last season Sammy Ameobi’s solo effort gave us a 1-0 victory in the corresponding fixture.

In some weird quirks of the fixture list, we play Rotherham on Boxing Day, just as we did the last time we were both in the same division, we play Hull on New Year’s Day for the second season in a row, while our final game of the season is against Nottingham Forest, which means if anything is riding on the game at the City Ground, there should be a pint downed every time the name Aaron Wilbraham is mentioned.

Should I book my train tickets?

Hahahahahahaha. No. Sky have picked their televised fixtures for the opening weekend. It’ll shock nobody that Leeds have been selected, along with Reading v Derby, Sheffield United v Swansea and Hull v Villa; which means our game at West Brom should be a Saturday 3 pm kickoff bar any special change in circumstances. But games beyond that haven’t been moved yet, so that could still happen.

Here are the full fixtures for the season. Credit to the club’s media team for their optimism in not ruling out the possibility of reaching the FA Cup semis. If only they showed similar diligence before telling everyone that Filipe Morais was off.
