Bolton’s Wheater In Team Of The Week

|

Each week the EFL does a Team of the Week, picking 11 players throughout the three divisions, recognising their strong performances.

After our brilliant weekend, we’d have expected one or two entries into that lineup. One Bolton player was picked, but it might not be the one we all guessed.

David Wheater made it into the back four after his strong display, where he scored the equaliser.

“Solid at the back but useful up top, too! Wheater was thrown up front late on, contributing to the sensational comeback which kept Bolton in the Championship,” was the justification on the EFL’s site.

All fair enough, Wheater, like many, was excellent – although if I had to nominate a man in a white shirt from Sunday, it had to have been Adam Le Fondre, for scoring a goal and setting two up in the space of 32 minutes.
