Ray Finkle (real name Layne) is back with his view from the good old U.S of the A.

Ray Finkle is back with a guest piece. It seems even fans across the pond want Knight to vacate the Reebok. Here’s an outline of Finkle’s view, how he sees it. Thanks again…

Crazy thought: Tierney, Wheater, Baptiste, Ream at the back.

Right footed players end up on the left all of the time, but of the 3 left footers, 2 happen to be defenders. Not to suggest that Tim Ream is the solution at right back, but he is quick enough to get back, and plays a nice outlet. Smooth foot skills, paired with a winger that will get wide to open lanes, it could open the field up for the movement needed to create chances, as long as the midfield is willing to run and cover each other.

Medo/Spearing protect against the counter attack, creativity in the middle through Moritz/Eagles, and more angle play through Lee/Hall on the right. One striker with any luck should find the opportunity and take it. Give any of ’em a shot, whoever takes theirs, go with it. Wide play stretches the defence, but it by no means says you have to play high crosses. What`s the point, we have no true aerial threat in any of our strikers, aside from Eaves, and he’s probably at the bottom of the pecking order.

Medo and Spearing have both shown their ability to unleash a thunderbolt, hitting the net should come (sometimes you have to be optimistic). If they actually push the opposing defences back on their heals, the 2 should be able to pin them back, and find more opportunities at goal.

It`s time to make the opposing teams` back-lines think about movement. I am a glass half empty type of person; hoping loan moves are made that assess the deficiencies clear to everyone. It`s been asked, what to do with the squad? This very well may not be the answer, but…it gets Knight away from the squad, which seems to be every ones current priority
