As the Transfer Window creaked ever so slightly shut for Wanderers on Tuesday, we managed to obtain diary extracts from an anonymous junior reporter on duty at a live Wanderers Transfer Deadline Day blog.

Walked into the office, made a few calls. No leads so far. Went out to Greggs to get a bacon barm and a coffee, and hope for a few incomings and so have some content for the blog.

Word is going round that we might sign a French striker from Evian. Again I contact my trusty sources, but they suggest there’s competition coming in for the lad. And Wanderers might have to pay some money. Do they not know the situation they’re in?

11.00
I switch on Sky Sports News. They reckon Anthony Martial might be a good signing for Man Utd because he has 20 for pace on Football Manager. My profession is dying.

12.00
DONE DEAL! INCOMINGS! I shake hands and bring in a BLT and a bottle of Pepsi for £2.50 from M&S, outstripping summer spending at the Macron by £2.50

Word comes through that Andy Kellett may be on his way to Wigan. A quick few calls and it turns out he is having a medical. Yes! I have something for the blog! Yippee!

14.00
I make the boss some tea for the first time ever. I just want something to do, what with the Kellett news going a bit quiet while it’s all being sorted out. He said it was too weak. I’m not making him tea again.

15.00
Three hours to go. I’m looking for cheap holidays in October. Seville looks good. It’s hot there.

16.00
I’ve done the Sudoku in one of the national papers again. The answers were the same as earlier this morning. It all adds up I suppose.

17.00
Kellett finally joins Wigan. I’m gutted to see him go, and equally happy, as it vindicates my idea of having a rolling Transfer Deadline Day Blog. I hope those reading it had an exciting day. We speak to more sources in hope of incomings, but nothing doing.

18.00
The deadline passes. Another call to another source, and despite my most aggressive line of questioning it looks like Wanderers won’t be signing anyone.

18.30
Well what a day. Andy Kellett left for Wigan. I love Transfer Deadline Day!
