BWFC: Poor Lad

Joe Riley has a lot of luck in football… Unfortunately, it’s all bad

Some things, it would seem, just aren`t meant to be. When it comes to Joe Riley`s career at Bolton Wanderers, the football God`s appear to have completely turned their backs on him.

Apparently, the young right-back fell innocuously in a Development Squad match against Skelmersdale United after coming on as a second half substitute. The Whites` players and management team feared the worst after the 21-year-old was heard screaming and seen pounding the ground in frustration. After hobbling off the pitch, the club have since confirmed the youth academy product has ruptured his anterior cruciate ligament, forcing him out for the next 10 months.

I wish Joe all the best with his rehabilitation. He is too young to give up on him completely. But with finances dominating Wanderers` providence, how long can the cub carry the often-ail defender?
