Conor Wilkinson and Chris Lester go out on loan

Bolton duo Conor Wilkinson and Chris Lester have joined Conference Premier side Chester FC on one-month loan deals.

We`ve talked about these players recently and a large portion of the Whites` faithful have been championing their Wanderers` first-team inclusion. Obviously, the youngsters are highly rated at t`Reebok and have stood out in an otherwise disappointing campaign for Jamie Fullarton’s development squad so far this season.
Wilkinson joined Wanderers from Millwall in the summer and scored an astonishing four goals in the 7-2 victory over Blackpool’s second-stringers in the Lancashire FA Senior Cup last week.

Lester, who recently earned his first call-up to the Northern Ireland under-21 squad, was also on the scoresheet in that Lytham thrashing, which helped set-up a quarter-final tie with Stretford.

Apparently, our promising starlets will be eligible to play in the FA Trophy in November, and Chester boss Neil Young admitted they are in contention to start against Aldershot on Saturday afternoon.

I`m happy for the duo, but could they have been snapped up by a League 1 or 2 side? I suppose competitive, first-team action is the most important thing and at Chester, opportunities should be in abundance.

Good luck, boys. I for one will be keeping a beady-eye on your progress.
