Can Bolton Make It Two Away Wins In A Week?

|

After a first win of the season, Bolton go into a game with renewed confidence as they travel to Lincoln, a side we’ve not faced in the league for a good while.

The injuries we had to contend with at Bristol Rovers turned out not to be an issue in the end, but how will we cope with a third game in eight days? We’ll find out at Sincil Bank.

Team news

Dennis Politic was unwell in midweek, but could be available for selection tomorrow. Jake Wright would be the most likely of the injured players to be available, but it doesn’t sound like he or any others will be rushed. Lincoln will probably field Tyler Walker, who failed to make an impact for us a couple of seasons ago, but has seven goals already this term.

Facts and stats

Bolton’s win on Tuesday gave us the first away points all season. Lincoln’s home form is mixed, they have four wins without conceding at Sincil Bank, but also lost 1-0 to Bristol Rovers and were thrashed 6-0 by Oxford just days after we had held them to a goalless draw.

This is our first league trip to Lincoln since 1986, when we drew 1-1 in Division 3. We have won an FA Cup tie there since then, back in 1993.

Prediction

A 3-1 defeat, I just worry a midweek game could make it a game too far.
