1) You go into this match on the back of a 1-1 draw with Manchester City. How do you think you’ll approach this game?

There`s no denying that our main aspirations this season lie in the Premier League and the Champions League, however Jose Mourinho doesn`t like losing and he treats every game as a game he wants to win. The League Cup has a special place in Jose`s heart as it was the first trophy he won whilst in England. There will be squad rotation but it`ll still be a more than decent starting eleven.

2) You’ve obviously got a number of world class players amongst your ranks. How many of them do you expect to feature against Bolton and who do you think poses the biggest threat?

It wouldn`t surprise me if Jose made eleven changes to the side that started against Manchester City, I reckon some of the youngsters might play but there could also be a fair chance that amongst the starting eleven he names will be the likes of Petr Cech, Loic Remy, John Obi Mikel and Didier Drogba. As for the biggest threat, I`ll go for Remy, he`s a lot to prove since his arrival from Queens Park Rangers.

3) Bolton have been out of the Premier League for a while, and little is expected of them going into this game. However, it is thought that they’ll play with an attacking mentality, how do you think Chelsea will respond to this?

If you want any chance of winning then go for it. This season we have been a little vulnerable in defence but have managed to out-score the opposition. With most of our regulars rested we may lack that pace needed to spring the counter-attack our recent game has been based on.

4) Which of Bolton’s players (if any) do you think will pose a threat to Chelsea?

These sorts of ties often throw up the name of an unsung hero, somebody who doesn`t normally make his mark could impress. Could Jermaine Beckford be that man?

5) Finally, what do you predict the final score to be?

Although your away form has been poor, I reckon this tie could be decided by the odd goal in three, I`ll go for 2-1 to Chelsea!

Thanks very much to Merlin for his time. This will obviously be a very tough fixture, but one that I’m looking forward to immensely. I haven’t been to Stamford Bridge since the last time we played them in the Premier League.

I think Merlin has been very kind to us saying that it’ll be somewhat of a close affair. I reckon it’ll be 3-0 to Chelsea, though there is that little part of me saying that we could get something from this match?
