The Daily Mirror`s Alan Nixon has once again demonstrated why the vast majority of visitors to this website regard him as an idiot. (The figure was 76% in the poll we ran.)
Wigan were by far the better side in Sunday`s game at the Reebok, according to Nixon, despite losing 4-1, and further evidence of his tenuous grip on reality is provided by his description of the Latic`s equaliser.
`But Wigan responded well and equalised when Denny Landzaat picked his spot after Abdoulaye Faye cleared a cross to him on the edge of the box,` he wrote.
This would be surprising as Faye:
a) Is currently injured.
b) Was transferred to Newcastle in August.
Numpty Nixon isn`t the only one to be confused on this issue. The Bolton News`s Gordon Sharrock, another journo who`s stealing a living, made the same error, whilst reporting on the Carling Cup game at Fulham.
‘Lee made nine changes for the cup tie – only Kevin Davies and Abdoulaye Faye were survivors of the team that started Sunday’s draw with Spurs.`
Nope, that wasn`t Faye either. In both cases the player was Abdoulaye Meite. It`s an easy mistake to make – if you`re an idiot. Lads, if you`re reading, remember this.
Faye has effed off the Newcastle, Meite reMains at the ‘Bok. Hope this helps.
