Rochinha looks like he’ll make his Bolton debut tonight with Neil Lennon, all but, confirming that his chance is likely to come against Ipswich in the game at Portman Road.

Injuries and suspensions perhaps force his hand somewhat, at the same time might have previously prevented this, but Lennon has told the Bolton News that the 19-year-old ‘deserves an opportunity’ having waited patiently so far.

Having impressed in training the former Benfica midfielder, who arrived at the Macron Stadium in January, is one that Lennon says would have ordinarily been involved already but feels that now is the chance, and time, for him to get a go – it ‘might work, it might not!’

‘Rochinha is coming into our thinking because he has been champing at the bit to be involved.

‘Under the circumstances it has been difficult to throw him in but we may look at him. Training-wise and football-wise he has been very good.

‘If we throw him in it might work, it might not. But the kid deserves an opportunity to be in the squad and around it. He is a talent. In an ideal world Rochinha would have played more.

Lennon went on to say that he couldn’t fault his ‘professionalism’ and as much as he’s wanted involvement already he’s ‘understood’ why this hasn’t come up until now, assuming he is given him chance tonight!

Do you think that we’ll see Rochinha given his debut against Ipswich, would you welcome it?
