Dorian Dervite has been officially confirmed as a Bolton signing, the fifth of the summer.

A week or so, maybe two, back news broke that Dervite was set to join Bolton at the end of his Charlton Athletic future but unlike other reported signings official confirmation hadn’t come, until today.

Upon the signing of Andy Robinson last week I said that he had become the fourth summer signing, after Neil Danns, Liam Trotter and Liam Feeney. At that time it was questioned why I hadn’t said he was the fifth, but it was simple as Dervite hadn’t been confirmed.

He will spend the next three-years with the club, with his contract kicking in on July 1st.

Dervite, who played alongside Dougie Freeman during a loan spell with Southend United in 2009, feels that Bolton will see the best of him now that he’s adapted to life in the championship.

He told the official website: ‘I have played in the Championship for the past two years now, and during my first season it was important for me to adapt to the league.

‘In my second year I felt more comfortable and I think that people could see that in my play.

‘Now I’m with Bolton, I hope that I can carry on improving and developing as a player.’

The former Tottenham Hotspur defender is a decent defender, who but for injuries it is thought could have made a greater impact at White Hart Lane earlier in his career but he’s certainly impressed at the Valley with Charlton.

Are we happy with the 25-year-olds arrival?

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.

Please include your username so I can put that to it though.
