Bolton`s Danny Shittu was sent off in a reserve game against Blackburn Rovers last night after conceding a last minute penalty. Shittu has been linked with numerous clubs including Chartlon, Nottingham Forest, Ispwich and Newcastle United, and is set to sign for Sheffield United on loan if Alan ‘Porky` Nixon of the Daily Mirror is to be believed.

The Nigerian`s new employers should be aware of his clumsiness. Whilst playing for Watford in the 2006-7 season, Shittu upended Idan Tal in the penalty area, when he was no threat on goal, and Gary Speed converted the resulting spot kick to give Bolton an entirely undeserved victory. It seems that old habits die hard.

The big man`s blushes were spared last night as Ali Al-Habsi saved from Brett Emerton to give the Wanderers a 2-1 victory, thanks to goals from Danny Ward and Javlon Campbell. The game also saw Ricardo Vaz Te`s first competitive appearance since September 2008 following knee surgery.
