Easy for Bolton at City

City were rubbish, Bolton were good and that’s that.

Anelka scored twice against his former club to boost Bolton’s Champion’s League credentials and condem a poor, poor City side to a relegation fight. His first goal was a peach. A sweeping move involving Nolan and Hunt ended with Anelka smashing the ball past Nicky Weaver. A few minutes later, a rampaging Henrik Pedersen (!!!) crossed for Anelka to calmly slot the ball home.

In between, the annoying little git Dickov claimed a goal that hadn’t crossed the line and which Jussi managed to scramble away.

Bolton completed the first half at a canter. It was obvious to all and sundry that City were not going to score no matter what happened.

The City team rallied a bit at the beginning of the second half. Ireland should have gone for a bad tackle and Barton was like a Tasmanian Devil let off the leash. How he was still on the pitch to scythe down Faye on 87 minutes, I’ll never know. Hopefully, that’s blown his England chance too.

The final whistle came with many of the City fans already on their way home.

Great win for the Whites but, if I cared, I’d be really, really worried about City.
