Faal Goes Back To London, But For Good?

|

Muhammadu Faal has left Wanderers on loan.

The striker has headed back to London, joining National League side Barnet after almost a year with Bolton. A statement on Barnet’s official website said there was the option of joining permanently in January if a deal were to be agreed, although whether that’s a formal agreement or a statement of Barnet’s intent we don’t know. He is out of contract at the end of the season though, so don’t be surprised if he has played his last game for us.

Faal hasn’t really made an impact in the first team since coming up north. Plucked out of non-league, where he was scoring for fun at Enfield, Keith Hill took the gamble in January, but only made two appearances last season. A foot injury has kept him out this season, and if he has recovered, the absence of Eoin Doyle and lack of alternatives in the squad, and yet he is still going out on loan, suggests he doesn’t really fit in Evatt’s plans.

Maybe the gap is, or was too big to step up, Some players can do it, some can’t, or just don’t really get the opportunity.
