The latest championship fixture saw Bolton on the road at the weekend as the battle to ensure they stay in the division continued.

Bolton fought back from two-nil down to secure a 2-2 draw at Huish Park against relegation threatened Yeovil Town on Saturday.

Dougie Freedman was disappointed that the good start his side made didn’t see them go ahead but by the time half time came Yeovil were, he admits as much too, ‘deservedly’ ahead.

He has revealed that he had some words with him players at the break, which came at the right time.

The Bolton boss said: ‘In the first ten minutes we started well and had a couple of half chances but didn’t take them. Yeovil then got a foothold in the game and deservedly went 2-0 up.

‘Half-time came at a good time for us and we had some strong words and tactically changed the team to go more direct.’

Ishmael Miller and Kevin Dawson had put Yeovil two-nil up before Lukas Jutkiewicz gave Bolton hope. The sending off of Alex Baptise, with a penalty awarded to Yeovil, gave Miller than chance to make it three but Alex Bogdan saved this with Zat Knight then earning Bolton a point.

Freedman feels it could have been more in the end, adding: ‘In the end I thought the three points could have gone our way and I’m disappointed not to win it.

‘Obviously they had a penalty, I’ve got no complaints about that or the sending off, but when they missed that penalty it was one-and-a-half minutes before we went up the other end to score.

‘We had enough chances to win the football match. We’ve now got a huge week ahead. Our performance has been good at the Reebok and we’ve got two local derbies coming up.’

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.
