Home advantage well and truly counted for something for Bolton at the weekend.

Bolton not only beat Blackburn Rovers at the Reebok on Saturday they battered them as they beat their local rivals 4-0 to ease championship relegation concerns.

Dougie Freedman knows that Blackburn aren’t a pushover so this was a very good result, his only disappointment was that it wasn’t by a greater margin as he is certainly sure it could have been.

The Trotters boss said: ‘Blackburn are a good decent team so don’t be fooled by the result today. There was one little slip from us in the first half but apart from that it was some really good stuff that we played out there.

‘It could have been more but I’ll settle for 4-0.’

Goals for Medo Kamara, Joe Mason, Jay Spearing and Andre Moritz secured Bolton the win over their local rivals.

Freedman was left in little doubt that Bolton deserved the win him dedicating it to the long suffering home fans, who have not had ‘a lot to shout about’ so far this season.

He added: ‘I think we deserved more but I was really pleased with our intent today. I can’t sit here and praise one particular player because everyone played well.

‘I think the fans deserve the credit today, though, because they’ve not had a lot to shout about this season and they pay good money.’

‘Like I said, that was for the fans today.’

Mr Ecky sends his best to the Vital Bolton community, he’s currently not well, he’ll be back as soon as possible and in the meantime, he’s got a staff writer to fill in for him.

If anyone has something to share in the meantime (this gives a genuine Bolton point of view from a Bolton fan!) feel free to fire an email through.
