You`d think with the next transfer window several months off, that there would be a pause in the stream of made up stories regarding player movements. If only. This week`s (and possibly this year`s) prize for the most brain dead tale, goes to FansFC.com, who claim that Bolton centre-back and ex-Aston Villa man Gary Cahill, will be signing for Newcastle United for £6 million in the summer. There are a number of reasons why this isn`t happening.
1. Cahill won`t wish to spend the next few years of his career injured – a fate that befalls anyone who signs for Newcastle
2. The chances that Newcastle will be in the Championship next season increase by the week.
3. £6 million? Do a bit of research lads. Try doubling that.
Newcastle can have Nicky Hunt if they like.
