Goal, Moment, and Signing of the Season Results

|

We asked you to vote for our first three Vital Bolton end of season awards, and we pleased to announce the results.

MOMENT OF THE SEASON

It should be absolutely no surprise to anyone that Sunday’s Macron Miracle, Wilbraham’s Winner, whatever alliteration you prefer, won this award. The one surprise is that somebody, maybe even two people, voted for the other Aaron Wilbraham goal, which, don’t get us wrong, was great at the time, but how could anyone not vote for Sunday?

Wilbraham winner – 97%
Wilbraham equaliser at Hillsborough – 3%
Others – 0%

GOAL OF THE SEASON

Goals can be subjective, and often one may not be better than another, just different. It was hard to settle on four nominees, but I thought Adam Le Fondre’s half-volley against Fulham was in a league of its own, and with more than half the vote, it seems other Wanderers fans did too. There was a combination of great technique and the fact that it was unstoppable set it apart from the others.

Le Fondre v Fulham – 58%
Ameobi v Bristol City – 21%
Ameobi v Sheff Wed – 11%
Little v Barnsley – 11%

SIGNING OF THE SEASON

There wasn’t much excitement when Karl Henry arrived in late September, but his presence in midfield, both physical and in terms of communication and mentality, seemed to make all the difference for Bolton. He even managed a goal at one point, which for him is a collector’s item.

Karl Henry 46%
Sammy Ameobi 22%
Antonee Robinson 20%
Mark Little 13%
