Former England striker Emile Heskey has now extended his short term contract at Bolton Wanderers until the end of the season.

Lennon has been quoted by the BBC as saying about the 37 year old former Aston Villa, Leicester and Liverpool striker – amongst other well known clubs.

‘He’s signed an extension as his contract was only up until the end of this month. We’ve extended that until the end of the season and we’ll sit down and have a chat with him once everything is through. What a player he is. There were a lot of raised eyebrows when we brought him in but if you look at his individual performances they are very, very good for a guy of his age and he leads the line brilliantly.’

Having made his debut from the bench, he scored his only goal for us against Blackburn Rovers on Boxing Day and he’s failed to find the net since then in his recent nine appearances, but obviously Lennon is happy with his team work.
