Is Le Fondre Returning to Bolton?

|

It’s one of the first rumours of the January window, and it’s an exciting one.

Is Adam Le Fondre on the verge of a Bolton return?

He hasn’t really been getting any game time at Wigan since his move there last summer, and it seems he will be allowed out on loan.

ALF played for us on loan in the second half of the 2014-15 season, scoring a decent haul of eight goals in 17 games.

He became a fan favourite in that short spell, but with the financial situation falling apart in the summer of 2015, a permanent deal wasn’t possible.

The journalist Alan Nixon has tweeted that we are in, saying, “Got opposition. And got Football League to get past.”

With Sammy Ameobi and James Henry now gone after their loan deals finished, there is at least squad space. (any chance of those accounts by the way Ken?) A goalscoring striker would add an extra dimension to the team as well. Gary Madine has played well but is not a prolific marksman, Jamie Proctor has done nothing, while it hasn’t worked out for Keshi Anderson after his good debut.

I would argue that Zach Clough and Max Clayton are not out and out strikers, but they are unlikely to offer 20 goals in a season either.
